Aerospace Education Officer - What Does an Aerospace Education Officer Really Need to Know?

The AEO needs to understand that one of the major purposes of Civil Air Patrol is to provide aerospace education and training to its members and to the general public. CAP members are obligated to involve themselves in aerospace education. CAP has both an internal and an external aerospace education program.

  • The internal program provides aerospace education to the CAP membership, both seniors and cadets.

  • The External program provides the general public with aerospace education.

There are four basic things that the AEO can do to really get the program working at the squadron level.

  1. Participate in the AEX Award program.

  2. Conduct the Rocketry Program.

  3. Ensure that Aerospace current events discussions are occurring.

  4. Encourage seniors to obtain the Yeager Aerospace Education Achievement Award.

After that, the sky is the limit!
