Web Development

Developing a CAP website needs to be the result of dialog with the unit commander, key members of the staff, and even with your members. Your website will succeed if,

  • It has useful information, or else visitors will soon abandon in.

  • You keep that information updated.

  • You seek input from the various staff officers for the various sections.

  • You get your unit commander's approval for all content.

  • You get your initial design and layout approved at the Group III level

Unit meeting time is often limited, and very few members have time to visit the various bulletin boards. Worse yet, very few have the time to update the bulletin board. Therefore, if you add an electronic bulletin board to your own unit website, you'll be doing all a very big favor.

A successful website is a dynamic affair, where content is revised and posted on a regular basis. If your unit members look at your website as a "must have" resource, you've made the grade. But if their reaction is more of the "ho-hum" variety, you need to ask your unit members why... and listen to them.

Seek advice from your Group III Webmaster. You'll get it.
