Welcome


Group III – one of seven major subcommands within Texas Wing – covers from Addison in the North to Waco in the South, Grand Prarie in the West to Mesquite in the East. Nine squadrons in all.
The Group is responsible for the Civil Air Patrol squadrons and operations within its area as defined above. The Group is responsible to the Civil Air Patrol Corporation and the Texas Wing commander for ensuring that corporate objectives, policies, and operational directives are effectively executed within the Group. The Group commander represents the Texas Wing commander within the Group.
Fully staffed with qualified and competent personnel, Group III focuses on supporting its squadrons, exercising supervisory functions on the squadrons' training, readiness and operations. Group III staff members represent Texas Wing as hands-on representatives, at the service of the squadrons.

Mesquite Airport AirFest on Memorial Day weekend.

NewsThe event coordinator and the Airport manager have asked for help from CAP, and wanted to be sure the invitation goes out to all GIII Squadrons.

We'll probably be doing some gate guarding, "Do not cross" line watching, balloon duty, light first aide, etc.

The Black Sheep Cadets will also be doing an RON and Fire Guard duty Saturday night. (Part of Ground Team training is to secure an area, so this is perfect)

Clasping her throat and was obviously having trouble breathing. As Lt Grant approached the

Young girl he asked if she were having trouble breathing. Unable to reply, because she was

Choking on a piece of food and could only gesture. Grant quickly turned the girl around and

Performed a Heimlich maneuver on her by placing his arms around her midsection and

Compressing it quickly discharging the errant piece of food from her throat.

“CAP WAS HIGH FLYING IN ALPINE”

NewsAlpine, TX … Squadrons of the Texas Wing Civil Air Patrol were practicing their high

Mountain flying this past weekend, Friday April 20th thru April 22. Beginning last Friday CAP

Planes, for the most part Cessna 172’s, and 182’s, began arriving at Alpine Municipal Airport to

Begin Mountain Fly Training. The last aircraft to arrive landed shortly after sunset in the small

West Texas Town of Alpine, Texas known as the “Door way to the Big Bend National Park”

Lt. Colonel Gwynn Broggle was the designated Commander of the operation who commented

“We have great weather, great instructors, eager pilots and a great Operational plan. This should

Red Ribbon Week at Redbird Squadron
